A few months ago I got an email from OKHOBBY.com saying that i've been selected to review one of their new chargers. I was honored to do so, and before I knew it the mailman was knocking at my door with my new BATTMAN B6-80W Charger/Discharger. Their shipping was EXTREMELY fast. I think the total shipping time was 4 or 5 business days from China to the US. Very impressive to say the least. The charger was packed well as pictured below.

I opened the box up and it revealed a nice looking charger inside a little foam bag. I removed it from the bag and I must say that I was really impressed with the feel and look of the charger. It felt very sturdy, and I couldn't wait to test it out. As you may know, the BATTMAN B6-80W Charger/Discharger is DC powered. But you have the option to buy an AC Power Supply seperately so you can plug the charger into a wall socket. I chose that option, and also ordered a few more adapters along with the power supply after I received the charger. And just like before, my order arrived quickly with great communication. If you ever want to order from OKHOBBY.com do not think twice. They are a great company with awesome customer service and extremely fast shipping.

In the image above, you can see all of the optional accessories that are available for the BATTMAN B6-80W. All are available from OKHOBBY. Please click the "Optional Accessories" page on the left of this page for more info. After I received the power supply and adapters, I was ready to test out this charger. I plugged it into a wall socket, and the screen lit up. The screen and letters are very easy to read even if you are in a completely dark room.

Without reading the instructions (see "Instructions" page for more info), I knew how to operate this charger within 10 minutes. It is extremely easy to use, and is almost fool proof. But with any LiPo battery, we all know there is no such thing as "fool proof". Anyway, this amazing charger seems to do it all. Not only can you charge LiPo batteries with this charger, but you can also charge NiMH, NiCd, and Pb (lead acid) batteries.

The charger has four buttons as pictured above. When the charger first turns on, the screen says "User set Program". This basically means which type of battery you want to select. All you have to do is push the "type stop" button. Doing that brings you to the battery choices as seen in the picture above. You can pick which battery you want by pressing the "dec" or "inc" buttons. Once you see which type of battery you want to choose, you just press the "start enter" button and then you can choose other options. For example, if you choose LiPo, your options are: Discharging, Charging, Balancing, Fast Charging, or LiPo Storage. Then you press the "start enter" button again to choose the amps you want to charge/discharge the battery at, and also choose the voltage (1s, 2s, 3s, all the way up to 6s) of your battery. For NiMH and NiCd, your options are: Charging, Discharging, and Cycle. I find the Cycle feature to be great. Just set how many times you want to cycle the battery (you can choose from 1 to 5), and this awesome charger will do it for you. Now you can bring your old NiMH and NiCd batteries back to life with the BATTMAN B6-80W. For Pb (lead acid) batteries, you can choose to either charge or discharge them.

Another great feature on this charger is the "Save Data" option. You can save up to 5 batteries instead of keep going through all of the options, entering voltage, amps, etc. everytime you want to charge the same battery. Also, this charger has a variety of safety warnings, such as: Reverse Polarity, Connection Break, Short Circuit Error, Input Voltage Error, Voltage Select Error, Malfuntion Error, Low Voltage Warning, High Voltage Error, One Cell Low Voltage Error, Once cell High Voltage Error, Connection Error, and Control Failure Error. This is a very safe charger, but always pay attention when charging a battery, especially if it is a LiPo.

My numerous tests of charging batteries with this charger all went smoothly. I used this charger to bring back some old NiMH and NiCd packs I had laying around, and I also charged and discharged many of my LiPo's. This charger balances LiPo's very good, as confirmed my by watt meter and volt meter. I never tried to charge a Pb (lead acid) battery with it as I don't have any, but i'm sure it charges them just fine too.

Overall, the BATTMAN B6-80W Charger/Discharger is definitely one of the best chargers I have ever owned. I even like it more than my FMA Direct CellPro 4s Charger. And at the price of only $34.99, there is not one reason NOT to buy this truley great charger. And OKHOBBY is a great company to deal with. Many of you may know me by BD Flyer on RCGroups.com, as I am an active member on there. I am also an active model airplane enthusiast, and would NEVER recommend something I do not like to my fellow modelers. But I do like this charger, and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anybody who is looking for a new charger.
